It’s not 50% more though. I track my groceries closely going back almost ten years and it’s more like a 15% increase in staple items compared to 2018. Processed food, luxury meat and frozen food is like 30-60% higher (my data on this is less robust) but milk, eggs and bread is not 50% more expensive unless you are buying the most expensive options.

You can literally go look at commodity market price history. Wheat is 9% above 2018. Cheese is 6% higher. Milk +17%, rice +10%, eggs +12%.

Eggs at Aldi near me are legitimately not that much more expensive than $1.40. I think it was like $1.89 in store price for the cheapest ones. That’s why I don’t understand this whole thing. Eggs aren’t even that expensive. I feel like the whole country is collectively gaslighting me.

An IRIS-T is for area defense. It’s an easier problem because the target is generally headed right at you. Part of the issue here is that the Navy is largely doing mid-course intercepts which requires a significantly higher performance interceptor in most cases. The AEGIS-BMD mission was designed primarily around fleet defense, not swatting rockets out of the sky which are targeting things much farther away. It can obviously play that role, but most of it requires using much higher performance missiles to do it.

It’s also just wrong. There’s a reason predators like spiders and centipedes are territorial - if there are too many of them and they kill off the food supply they will starve. Spiders generally won’t actually make a significant dent in an indoor infestation - they will kind of naturally grow with the insect population but won’t eliminate it.

But also, don’t be afraid to just read this stuff online. The game is so big it gets tedious if you don’t have a huge amount of time to devote to it. That can really kill motivation to keep going.

This is honestly the biggest disappointment in the third game and is due to the console focus. The second game has much deeper combat because kb&m really opens up ability to get creative with complex magic, potion and swordplay combos.
