That’s so great we can plaster logos in the center of it without any reasonable considerations and it would still work, so that’s now abused by many apps and services. No, they weren’t designed to do that, it’s just a random obstacle, like a dead bug, that doesn’t obscure the reading too much. Trully impressive.

Yep, that’s what confuses me too. Seems like I’ve missed the time when this photo was popular. Can’t do a proper reverse search from mobile tho.
As for railings: I have a couple of these combinations around me in Russia because these basic colors are, well, that basic. There were some news about communal service workers repainting park benches and fences into different colors after someone spotted they are blue-yellow. But even Zet-head users found this ridiculous and stupid.

That was the default Lemmy instance for a very long time, so I guess for pre-reddit exodus folks it wasn’t more of a choice than for lemmy.world users now.
I said worse things about USSR history and I still comment on political LM posts when I feel like putting effort, and don’t even care about the instance if the subject is neutral. Their users did appreciate deeper digs in what it really was if I could produce some insights. The only user\mod I had problems with is y-tos, and I choose not to touch anything they write at all.
One can also cut the middleman and donate feet picks.
