I am trying to post more from peertube than youtube/other sources, just to help out some of the creators (And share stuff I find interesting).

I am finding that not all channels or instances are being federated within lemmy.world.

For example: https://lemmy.world/c/simon.caine_channel@tilvids.com

Has only one video show up. https://lemmy.world/c/thelinuxexperiment_channel@tilvids.com

has videos up to 3 months show up.

And https://lemmy.world/c/vkc@tinkerbetter.tube doesn’t show up at all.

https://lemmy.world/u/vkc@tinkerbetter.tube has everything up to 3 months.

Almost none of my subscribed peertube creators have the most recent videos up, even when I use search on lemmy.world. Im not sure what is going on. Any ideas?

Good to know. I dunno piefed seems to be doing a lot of good things lately. I might spin a local version up and try it out.

Thanks! That really sucks on lemmy.world end. I wanted to direct link so all the comments/views would show up on the creators peertube pages. We have a very small community and most of these videos only have views in the hundreds (if that).

I hope they get it fixed soon!

Any good links to get started /u/rimu@piefed.social? I have a home yunohost and a couple of raspberry pis but thats about it ATM. What do you recommend to someone just getting started?

Check this out https://join.piefed.social/docs/installation/ and additional installation instructions linked to at the end.

The repository has a docker config file too, which you might find easier. No yunohost config yet, sorry.

I haven’t heard of anyone running it on a Pi but it should be doable. Consider putting the DB on a separate Pi if you subscribe to a lot of high traffic communities.

If you have trouble, drop in to our Matrix channel (somewhere on join.piefed.social)

Thanks I’ll give it a shot! Appreciate the docker container :)

I tried self hosting with lemmy s while back and the old yunohost package was too old to federate with other instances.
