Liked the original quite a bit. Looking forward to this one.
I hope they keep the workshop like in 1.
Works with anything plugged into the wall. Software developer most of the time. Helped start a makerspace once.
Will talk about Linux, plants, space, retro games, and anything else I find interesting.

Its not mine, its someone elses (Elena). She has an ongoing series. This is just the latest post.
Oh the irony getting removed by a mod here. Although its probably in the mod logs somewhere with an actual reason :)
Yep. If they were periodically replaced, then the communities might have a better mod (or at least a less burnt out one).
I remember when they kicked mods off their platform when the subreddits went private on the API retaliation. Now quite a few are on here. Meanwhile, some of those subreddits are still having issues moderating.
Personally I think mods should be rotated once in a while by the community instead of giving power to them indefinitely on communities. But reddit really messed up there. Some mods are mods of hundreds of subreddits which is silly and unsustainable.
Yep, they NEED to fix their old controllers thats for sure.
Guess it’s not for you then. I’m having a blast. A lot of my friends are now in it and the last year or so have been great.
And more and more people seem to be moving.
It has an adapter that integrated with the current protocol.
Mastodon.social just went over the 2 million user mark. The switch to fediverse and fediverse adjacent is going pretty quick.

Did an excellent job and had had many posts on this community. Lots of good experiments.
Yeah they ever get Linux support they will become my favorite.
Respond and interact with content. Whatever it may be. In most sites, that means using their singular platform with their rules. With Activity hub, it means using many potentially different platforms to communicate.
I personally use both rss and activity hub. Works pretty well. One to inform and one to communicate with.
Whatever you want GL! It’s just a starting point. They used Django/python but whatever makes you happy.
Most of these kinds of projects die on the vine so I was hoping by starting from something that already exists its more likely to succeed.
You can probably fork bookwyrm or another related platform. Might help you out to get started on the activity hub integration and functionality.
I run it off yunohost which comes with it by default. Im not saying its the best to have servers come with it by default, but I sure use it quite a bit!
Ive had a better time with good old irc. But I hope matrix takes over…
Thanks I’ll give it a shot! Appreciate the docker container :)
I tried self hosting with lemmy s while back and the old yunohost package was too old to federate with other instances.
Any good links to get started /u/rimu@piefed.social? I have a home yunohost and a couple of raspberry pis but thats about it ATM. What do you recommend to someone just getting started?
Good to know. I dunno piefed seems to be doing a lot of good things lately. I might spin a local version up and try it out.
Thanks! That really sucks on lemmy.world end. I wanted to direct link so all the comments/views would show up on the creators peertube pages. We have a very small community and most of these videos only have views in the hundreds (if that).
I hope they get it fixed soon!
I wonder if they are going to go after the monster tamer genre as a whole ar some point. I can see them going after tem tem, coromon, nextmon, etc…
