Tor is a TLAR system - meaning transport, launcher and radar all in one vehicle. Can be networked with other command vehicles and launchers but works as it is.
It’s deceiving because you can’t spot missiles or launch tubes, but Tor has vertically launching missiles contained in the turret – somewhat unusual in a land vehicle without an erector (Don’t!).
I think SK intelligence already reported that NK is rounding up families of deployed soldiers. They said it was to keep potential losses from spreading, but it might as well be a security against defection.

While I agree with your second argument that Russia would probably just call them on their bluff, I don’t think they’d need long range ballistic missiles. They seem to operate on russian soil a lot, and you could put a big nuke into a larger van easily.
The driver saw “a tank” at best. If the gunner/commander were even looking in the right direction, nothing tells us their lens wasn’t dirty, the optics broken or everything was shaking too violently for a proper look. It’s easy to overestimate how much you can really see out of your steel coffin, especially when it’s 40 year old soviet steel coffins.

You’re right about saturation attacks eventually overcoming every air defense. But the ~200 missiles from Iran would have been manageable for Iron Dome, if they were the kind of missile Iron Dome was built for – slow, short range rockets and mortars.
These were much faster, at least some of them maneuvered during flight and a lot of them had a terminal booster, so they were much faster.
Israel has systems for that, namely Arrow 2/3 (the latter even intercepts exoatmospheric and it looks fucking dope) and David’s Sling. But they are definitely not made for the sort of massed attack we saw. They’re more like a Patriot system.
