I don’t get the rationale for nerfing stuff in a coop game. Being able to feel overpowered and feel strong and still be fun for everyone is one of the strengths of coop over pvp.

I hope some mods come out that allows it to be skippable for single player games. I wonder what this means for the future of Playstation games on GOG, since Sony had been releasing games there.
Dead Space scared me so much it made me numb to lot of horror games since.
Wonder if the game will get a fov option. Game fov was nauseating even played on a TV so had to use cheat engine on PC to increase it.
No it was just a comment to getting a gaming PC and a console. I’ve had a PS3 and PS4 for just the exclusives and encountered the drawbacks as a PC gamer used to PC performance being forced to use a console for the exclusives. So console is not an area I’m unfamiliar with, and personally over two console generations I found my PC to be the better living room experience, since PS3 and PS4 fell short of performance expectations.
So this gen being able to not bother with one and just opt for only a hdmi cable was a dream come true as opposed to PC gaming and console combo. And looking at the console games that ended up trapped to being only playable on the console it was released while PC games I bought during the same time frame being playable and upscaling with the hardware to run better has made me more satisfied with my PC game purchases.
But those people are already using consoles because they find PC too confuse. This advice is for people who already have a gaming PC. Seems a waste of money to get something that can play triple a titles and then just relegate it to working on only a monitor and picking up a console to only play on the TV.
That’s what at least a $1000+ and then another S500-$700 and needing to buy games for another platform and internet subscription? Maybe doubling dipping on the same game along the way? I don’t see the selling point for a PC gamer.
It was even worse the previous two generations to do that since games running at 60 fps was a rarity so if you had a gaming PC it was the best device to actually take full advantage of the resolution and TV refresh rate. Otherwise it meant going nearly two whole decades of 30 and sometimes sub 30 fps gaming.
And now Sony games come to the PC after a delay and Xbox exclusives is no longer a thing. There’s less incentive than before for a PC gamer to put money into a console.
Unless your PC is really far away why bother getting a console then having to buy another set of games for it over a simple fiber optic hdmi cable to push a 4k/120 signal?
I’ve seen up to 30M hdmi 2.1 cables which ends up being cheaper. Especially if you already have a gaming PC.
If they do that and Xbox aren’t idiots and take advantage of the high PS6 pricing that could lead to another PS3 early gen fiasco that takes years into the generation to catch up.
Title is weird with how it could be interpreted to mean mtx was $1 billion.
So for people who might be confused
150 million dollars from in-game microtransactions.
Oh sweet finally a competitor with not 1 but 2 TouchPads! I hope this eventually leads to some third party coming out with a steam controller with all the deck inputs.
Living room isn’t a selling point for me since I have a fiber optic hdmi hooked up to the TV that allows me to not have to have my PC next to the TV. All I do is grab a controller and wireless keyboard like the K400.
Getting a console and having to buy games for it would be money wasted for me when I already have a unified library and am able to either play at the desk, play in the livingroom , or continue on from the Steam Deck.
It’s an ecosystem and no need for having to have games for different hardware.
Pretty crazy how they botched the success they had with the 360 so badly. Exclusives was what always mattered to me when it came to consoles and they just haven’t impressed in that department since then. Many quality triple a titles have come out every year but Xbox just couldn’t manage to come up with any new IPs that caught people’s eyes and missed on existing ones even with all that money.
PC is like 3 consoles in one with it getting Xbox games, Sony games on delay, and emulating Nintendo games. Can use mouse or game pad without needing blessing of devs on a game by game basis. And is a productivity device too that can be used for stuff like coding, video editing, 3d modeling, etc.
Yeah been keeping eye on it and they’ve been making good progress with some of the story being playable already.
I want Crew 1 offline more than the others because it has an actual single player campaign.
Not like console gamers were ever given a choice, but PC gamers kept wanting PC ports for more frames over the 30 fps standard. Graphics were already good during the PS4 era and PS5 is still crutching so hard on PS4 games during their PS5 pro showcasing. Now console users wanting the same after finally getting the option over a decade later I think shows they aren’t too different from PC gamers in loving frames.
They’ve finally seen the light. Just took several console generations until a console that started consistently delivered options above 30 happened. Now maybe they understand why PC gamers kept begging for PC ports to escape the 30 fps that was forced on them even if they owned a console.
My PS4 last gen collected dust majority of the year and that had a way stronger library of actual exclusives games released for the system that weren’t remasters. So PS5 and it’s current library of exclusives ignoring that they get released to the PC has been sad. Not been an impressive generation.
I considered getting a dualsense before for pcgaming, but the stick issues pushed me away when other alternatives have hall effect sticks and grip buttons without paying the price of the dualsense edge.
PS5 is just a sad sad gen with PS4 still being the highlight. Just really highlights how lucky Sony is that Xbox totally botched their own IPs this gen.
