  • I’m a longtime 40k fan and Rogue Trader is one of the few games that I feel like really nail the setting spot on. And I also enjoyed Owlcat’s Pathfinder games, they’ve got a strong pedigree behind them. If you’re a fan of CRPGs and Warhammer 40k you should definitely pick it up, it’s great. If you’re not a 40k fan, the game is still good, but you’ve got some homework to do if you want to understand the setting and understand the decisions you’re making - the Pathfinders might be a better fit for you.

  • Check out Shapez 2. The first game was pretty basic but I really enjoy S2 as a Factorio lite. It’s much much less complex, but there’s still plenty of room to build crazy contraptions as you unlock more stuff to build with. Most major upgrades will make you want to refactor your whole base, but after you finish delivering a certain type of shape you no longer need to make more (except sometimes as components for new shapes). So I’ll pretty regularly knock out like half my factory and make a new and improved assembly line for the new shape I need to deliver.

It’s good, give it a look. I get quite sucked into it and it doesn’t have as much mental overhead as Factorio does. There’s also no biters, which makes it a much more relaxing factory game.

  • AGMs are actually worth the squeeze even on a car that doesn’t necessarily require one, they’re genuinely good-ass batteries. Expensive, though. But they’ll blow the pants off a lead acid in a stress test.

Also lots of cars have an option to toggle the auto-off. Not all of them though. And some will reset it every time you turn the car on and off.

  • I like Loss specifically because the elders have found out how to use it but they don’t know what it means. It’s just a glyph that deals psychic damage to anyone under 40 and they don’t know why. But instead of misusing it like most other memes they don’t understand, you really can’t misuse Loss. You just stick it somewhere random and watch people scream.

  • Same, I haven’t even slightly enjoyed any other MOBA I’ve played except for Smite, but I’ve fallen in with Deadlock like it’s an old friend. And we’ve come back and won from a couple really depressing looking matches. Just the other day I was at 0/12 running Bebop with a 25k team soul deficit and once I actually got my head in the game, and got a little lane assist, we came back and won it and I finished with a 10/14 K/d.

The comeback isn’t easy, and it shouldn’t be, but it’s doable. Especially so if your opponents get cocky. I’ve been on the other side of that coin as well, going 10/0 with Vindicta and fly out to snipe without a care in the world, to discover that every enemy is suddenly paying attention to where I am.

  • What’s the easiest way to transfer files from windows to the deck? This seems like it should have been easy but I remember spending several frustrating hours setting up ssh only to have it frequently fail for reasons unknown, last time I tried this around when I first got my deck. Does a USB cable work if you plug it in directly? I don’t have a USB3>C data cable but I can probably get one.

  • We’re currently on GPT-4… You should look up what happened to GPT-1 through 3. If I remember right GPT-2 in particular was ruined by a bad feedback loop that ended up locking it into only writing the most disgusting, vile smut you could think of in response to any query. Not sure what happened to the others but frankly speaking I don’t think “feral rampancy” is off the table here.

  • Major Mindbleach made local headlines today as he drove a Santa Claus-esque sleigh attached to an AARGM directly over the heads of local combatants. Spectators say that instead of dropping gifts like his holiday counterpart, Mindbleach was dropping dook as he shit his pants repeatedly moving at speeds of Mach 2+ attached to a ballistic missile. The final status of Mindbleach is unknown. More information as the story develops.
