howdy
I see. Yeah, it would be confusing for everyone who didn’t see. Sorry.
You’ll never see it coming~
It’s Taittsuu
Twitter would be ツイッター
I don’t have much faith in Blizzard to stick around :/
Three weeks only.
Maybe I’ll install the game again tonight
I’ve seen I Want to Eat Your Pancreas. Kimisui (the short title, because it’s so long lol) kind of feels like getting stabbed in the chest then it’s over. Like what @wjs018@ani.social said, Look Back wasn’t top tier emotional, at least in the same sense as Kimisui.
Kimisui banks on the audience’s anticipation on when Yamauchi dies because it’s pre-established that she does die (movie opens with her funeral). The twist takes a different form. There’s also the reveal of the main character’s name. After Yamauchi dies and the MC goes through a cathartic moment, life goes on for him.
In Look Back, I kept thinking to myself “oh it’s not over yet?” There are several moments after the “twist” when I thought the movie was going to end already but it kept going (for good reasons) so the emotion you feel is a bit different. Perhaps a bit dull. Maybe you can say Look Back doesn’t have a “climax” in the same way Kimisui does.
Also, Kimisui is grounded completely on reality while Look Back has a segment where two timelines converge. So maybe the realism in Kimisui makes it more emotional.
My friend’s been bugging me to read the manga years ago so now I can say that I “read” it. It was kind of depressing to watch though.
I’m guessing Fujino and Kyoumoto are two parts of the author (Fujimoto) and it’s essentially his response to how a mangaka keeps on going. The manga was released during the Chainsawman hiatus and I’m guessing there are other references to his other past works.
Despite that, I’m still figuring out what Kyoumoto means to him. It’s a silly thing to think about but assuming he’s both Fujino and Kyoumoto, and he uses Fujino to represent the mangaka we know, then “who” is Kyoumoto?
And if anyone hasn’t, definitely read Fujimoto’s other one shot “Goodbye Eri”.
A bit late but happy birthday /c/anime! Honestly, I owe @wjs018@ani.social a lot for revitilizing this community and for making it into what it is today. They’ve been our biggest financial contributor and have also made me aware of some significant issues with the instance in the past. Thank you for your hard work! ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
I never thought of Spirited Away that way but now that you mention it, it does resemble isekai.
Lame. :/ Guess I’m changing my review then.
Kill la Kill
Persona series, maybe. The entire franchise is all about making friends, deepening relationships, and working together to fight monsters.
I saw somebody here recommend Kenshi, so I’m going to recommend RimWorld as well. It’s a colony building game, but it’s kind of anxiety-inducing lol
That’s unfortunate, but I hope the voice actors get what they want. I really love the English VAs for the new regions so I want to hear more of them. In the meantime, I’ll be using the other languages.
… and since !genshin_impact@lemmy.world doesn’t get pulls megathreads, I’ll be bragging my pulls here instead :P
I love Dehya. So “losing” 50/50 to her is a big win for me. She’s C4 now.
And of course, Xilonen. I heard she’s geo Kazuha with healing instead of grouping. I don’t care so much for meta but I’m happy I brought home two cat women with me yesterday.
The end credits mention 3DCG and motion capture so you might be right.
Surreal. Never read any of Junji Ito’s works. I’ve only seen his artworks through social media. I don’t like horror much, but let’s see how long I can keep up with this one.
Not expecting to see this today. Those crossover outfits are really cute.
ツンデレサービス~!
This thread is like 2 months old and I’m rewatching the episodes of the threads I missed on, so let’s go through this via screenshots.
I’m pretty convinced this toilet sign is Ougi and Nadeko. I think it’s easy to forgot that Ougi is a boy now.
We finally got the opening for Nademonogatari which features both Kana Hanazawa and Saori Hayami. I don’t know if Nademonogatari is the first time I’ve heard the two together. Both their voices share this characteristic I can’t describe in English but when you hear it, you might get what I mean.
I’m certain this is a callback to an older scene in the series. Either Koyomi or Ougi meeting with Tsukihi. You can also say Akira if you’d like.
Marina Inoue sounded completey different here, obviously because this isn’t the same Sodachi we knew. She’s a lot more compassionate and sister-like to Nadeko. I didn’t even recognize her until Nadeko said so herself. I’m actually quite glad Sodachi is doing better here and didn’t turn out to be a one-off character in the series (as she kind of came out of nowhere previously).
There really is something about girls cutting their hair short when they want to change something about themselves. It’s a really interesting phenomenon that boys don’t really have an equivalent to. More interestingly I guess, this scene parallels with Hitagi and Koyomi during Mayoi Snail.
By far the shots that reminded me that Monogatari is “peak cinema”, as they say. Live action shots, somewhat reminscent of early 2000s handhelds composited with a running topless Nadeko.
Some (maybe most) of these accounts are likely using custom domain linking instead of a server.
No, I don’t think it removes duplicate images.
I was going through some of Anno’s older works and found this gem. He also made an Ultraman fan film with him as Ultraman.
