How is saying it’s not the same game mechanics “judging it by different standards”? That right there is the problem: this idea that everything modern is better. Not everything needs all the same features tacked on.

Open world while still needing to go through the temples in a certain order. Various gadgets were required to progress, but crafty players often got around this. Pokemon would also be called “open world”, but could you just walk up to the Elite 4 from the beginning? Nope, had to get them badges first.
There’s “open to exploration” open world and “here’s a giant map, go wild”(a la Fallout/Skyrim). I prefered a Zelda with more guidance. Even Wind Waker, arguably the most open world, still had a progression the game tried to keep you on.
To me, they would be perfect games if they weren’t Zelda. That is to say, they are great games, just not what I expect from a Zelda game. Something I’d expect from Bethesda moreso(style, not gameplay lmao).
I feel like Wind Waker was the right balance between freedom and linear story.
Unpopular opinion: open world ruined Zelda. I thought I’d love the concept. But actually give it to me? Ughhh… Spend forever doing side quests because you don’t know if the equipment will only be good now or if youll need it down the road… No real guidance so you can end up just meandering around…
I liked the more structured narrative. Don’t get me wrong - it’s cool to play Link and just do whatever you want. But for a story game, a more defined linear path is more engaging imo.
Things like Spotify or your phone/earbuds themselves usually have a mono setting. I use it all the time when only wearing one earbud. Beatles songs are notorious for splitting vocals to one ear only.
The solution is already right there. But let me guess, “No, I want to use my old wired earbuds from 1995 and they should accommodate me in my archaic niche use case instead of me upgrading my earbuds to enjoy the new features developed like forced mono”?

Isn’t there an episode where a gould is dialing in and blasting the iris? Like, he dials in faster than they can establish a wormhole connection themselves, and then sends shit through, blasting the iris and heating it up(because the iris is like one atoms space away from the event horizon). When he starts dialing in, they only have X seconds to try to dial out themselves.
Now here’s where my memory is fuzzy: Samantha reprograms the gate dialing software to dial faster. Faster than a traditional dialer can. They talk about “we only have X time between gate closing and when he can dial back”. I seem to remember them trying to dial out during that time, locking chevrons in, and then the sequence being overridden by the incoming gould connection. So wed see like 5 chevrons lock, then it would suddenly break and be that other incoming call. They had to dial out BEFORE that call incoming connected. So they were locking in chevrons on Earth side for a call out while a call was being placed to earth from elsewhere. So chevrons CANT lock simultaneously or you couldn’t do that. It has to be one after the other.
Well I guess it’s time to RP a major cataclysm coming to your world and having to relocate.
Honestly hate these posts. People want all these changes and updates but never think about what it would require. How else are you gonna revamp planets without changing the hundreds of thousands that have already been discovered? So you either change nothing and have people complain it’s boring or apply the fix and have people complain you broke it. There’s no winning.
$3600 to build a media server anyone can access… Bro is delusional. Not to mention, how are you gonna put a single thing on it without breaking the law? The moment there is a single video there that you don’t have license/copyright to, the whole thing gets shut down. Especially if you charge for access, which you will have to, otherwise your bandwidth will be gone in a second. And you want to complicate this further by making it international.
Cool idea, but the logistics alone make this nearly impossible. This would only work in a pro-piracy community that understands that what they are doing is technically illegal.
Also, whatcha gonna do when the first CSAM gets uploaded and now suddenly you gotta follow legal regulations of numerous countries on how to properly report/sanitize the server?
Kevin Smith is a Catholic. Its more of “dude knew what he was talking about”. These rejuvenations happen every 25 years per this article.
