Yes, while desktop is mostly working well, other clients are far from being usable. I totally agree with this and choices of matrix foundation are not making it any better imo. Their inventing “new features” and not polishing current ecosystem, is not a best strategic choice
Yes it does support but best on desktop. On android only pretty much “legacy” and not anymore worked on element which has performance issues
Which client do you use? Desktop is the best working, second android element slow and laggy but fullest implementation so far, worst are element x which they created only to test still draft phase feature speeding up syncing but otherwise half backed. There is no other third party clients which would be significantly complaint with the protocol
Millions flies cannot be mistaken. Democratic mob cannot be mistaken. Mobs have never lynched anybody. How ignorant you are in your ego with your “whining” argument
I think it’s better to present a valid point against somebody’s statement than straight down voting without giving a reason “just because don’t like him”. I think it would create positive discussion environment in lemmy. We are here after all to exchange ideas on lemmy. Aren’t we?
Yes, exactly my thoughts on this. Downvoting is only a measure of crowd censorship based on opinion popularity. If you see some trolls, just block them but don’t hide their posts for other ones who may think on that person views otherwise
It’s vice versa. In the old good times there was a saying “don’t feed the troll”. Just block him. Downvoting is just a cheap solution for people who cannot justify their argument. Btw, I love to read downvoted comments which are by default ‘hidden’. Most of them are trash but sometimes it’s a valid point but not the very popular one
Exactly, if you see troll, just block him and declare “damnatio memoriae”. It works exactly like this in fms usenet like forum for old freenet / hyphanet. You can even subscribe block / allow lists ( -100 to 100 weight lists ). In my opinion, it’s very good mechanism. One of the best I ever saw
It won’t. You can block him it you don’t to answer his questions. Anonymity creates treacherous and malicious people who know that they don’t need to justify their actions. Before you start saying about stalking and doxxing know that I’m for using pseudonyms.
I am fan of Swiss Appenzeln Innerrhoden voting system. In public and with hands up. It’s supporting the civic courage values. It’s easy to ostracize people for no reason when you’re anonymous
Yes, absolutely. I am for pseudonyms but transparency. I would be very keen on having colors of the usernames to signify how old the username is. Also having a possibility to load block lists from files ( like github ) to allow sharing the block lists of the trolls
Nothing interesting for 99% population. Tech blogging is the hardest stuff and most tech youtubers pretty much stopped contributing. What’s the point of sharing knowledge if any gamer on twitch has bigger audience than you maybe 200 - 300 live watchers and it’s the a good number of viewers for a very well known polish security researcher ( ex Google ). So you know why social media is going shit
