  • I will give you my review as someone who is a trans ally. The writing is bad. Like really bad.

I played DA:O when it first came out, bought the Golem bonus release package. It was a fun, dark fantasy game. Same with the expansion and the other DA games. This game has none of that in the story. It’s just a really awful written story.

The chuds, and I despise even typing this, are right. The trans/non-binary stuff comes out of no where. They go full vegan road biker CrossFit attitude with it and just inject it in the most random places. “Let me tell you about all the sets I did!” And then there are some kind of odd non-consenting scenes which make it even weirder.

It lacks ALL the magic and creative writing of BG3 with almost none of the character development. It’s Mary Sue shit from start to finish.

The combat is good, but it’s likely a separate team made it.

  • “But we worked so hard in this!”

Sorry, you aren’t a cute grade school kid, you are a goddamn adult. I will happily encourage a small child to keep drawing stick figure dinosaurs that are indistinguishable from a melted candle.

When an adult makes a game far worse than what we had during the PS3 era with worse writing than an NES game, fuck out of here. We don’t owe you shit, not buying your garbage.

  • It goes back to Steve Jobs talking about how engineers and programmers losing positions of power in companies and being replaced with worthless MBA people.

They cannot add any value to a product, ever. All they do is make things worse for short term gain. They are all taught the Jack Welch style of management which does nothing but destroy a company. It makes no sense why it’s tolerated.

  • This is where guitars are right now.

Both Fender and Gibson are now owned by venture capitalists. Their quality of everything, from strings to picks to guitars, has plummeted across every brand they own in the last five years. It’s sad really.

You go on Reddit and people talk about the models and which one is great for this, or why they prefer it for that, but then you find some deeper dives into more recent spaces and people who know what they are talking about have moved away entirely from both brands.

If anyone is curious, you can buy a better guitar from Harley-Benton, Cort, or Jet than from Fender/Gibson and it will be 1/2 to 1/4 the cost.
