This is starting to tick me off. Now you’ve got me all wound up!
This is starting to tick me off. Now you’ve got me all wound up!
Thanks! I definitely need to upgrade from the starter ship.
I think that’s kind of the point of this expedition and it plays well into the theme for me.
After a while your brain will just start to ignore it and look past it as they pop up.
I’m sure at some point you’ll be able to figure out how to evade the voices. At least by the very end… Right?
It wouldn’t bother me if you were still able to earn the mount in-game.
Looks like they’re also planning on releasing without any DRM:
The game is also having one of it’s bigger sales at the moment (for Steam/PC), so it’s a good time to jump in.
Or you can find it slightly cheaper on sites like CDKeys.com: https://www.cdkeys.com/no-mans-sky-pc-steam-cd-key
You saw a single low quality post made with Generative AI and all of a sudden want to ban any image that has even a little bit of AI used in it?
Edit: I just double checked the updated community rules and saw that you left exceptions for AI background removers and AI Upscaling. Thank you for at least considering minor uses of AI.
I understand making a rule if it becomes a problem with a bunch of low quality posts spamming the place, but this just feels like a knee jerk reaction because of your disdain for anything related to AI (although it’s worth pointing out that the DLSS option in No Man’s Sky is using AI models to improve quality/boost fps).
If you find a compelling example of AI content which wouldn’t be widely detested, maybe we could make an exemption if the community agrees with you.
Alright, here’s an example of some really cool AI generated content: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMRi6pNAoag
The way I see it, generative AI is going through some early phases similarly to how cameras were treated in the past. Photographers, for a long time, weren’t regarded as artists for a while simply because it was so easy to just go out and take a picture of anything. But even photography can vary from the random cell phone pictures that anyone can take to the prize winning photographers that capture an amazing moment or who spend a lot of time getting the composition just right for the shot that they want to take. They might even wait in a specific spot for hours just to get a picture when the sun is at the right position.
Likewise with AI generated content, it’s easy to quickly create a lot of junk. But there are artists out there that use AI as another tool in their belt in addition to everything else that they have learned.
That is cool!
Looks like Pedro confirmed that it is Xi’an, good catch!

Definitely one of my favorite songs of the new ones we heard today.
I’ve used it for translating reviews where the website’s (or google’s) translator does a terrible job. It seems to do a much better job (at least the reviews made a lot more sense and I got a lot more out of it).
But I absolutely agree, don’t ever trust it to be completely accurate, especially with something important like contracts.
edit: grammar.
But the previous flight model seemed to work fine?
What were the issues you noticed with it?
Well, they’ve continued to churn out features and develop the game, so people keep supporting them.
There are definitely ups and downs, but overall they’ve made a lot of progress in the past few years.
A small group of players have been able to use jump gates to jump over to the Pyro system and back. That’s supposed to be released to everyone by the end of the year, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was just a PTU release, with it finally going live a few months later.
Yeah, the way I’m thinking about it is like RabbitMQ, but customized to work with their server meshing and the replication layer.
And at this point, from any newcomers/outsiders looking in, I think there’s a relevant xkcd for Average Familiarity with this subject.
No problem it’s a very new term, they’ve only mentioned it in a few places. I just dug up a previous comment that I had posted about this a month ago:
For those wondering what RMQ (Replication Message Queue) is. They explained a bit more in a previous motd update:
This RMQ Test from the core tech group will replace the current NMQ system in preparation for Server Meshing and will be much more robust against networking bottlenecks. This test will not be with meshing enabled but will focus on single shards.
The last test with it was pretty brutal (lots of crashing, imagine groundhog day where you only get a few minutes before you wake up again) so it looks like they’re trying to iron those out before switching on server meshing with it. Hopefully we’ll see much smoother gameplay with this enabled once they work out those issues.
“Stealth” is a useful tool for visiting Reddit. It’s available on F-Droid. https://gitlab.com/cosmosapps/stealth
Otherwise using old.reddit with a browser has been a decent fallback.
Here’s a rough translation to english using Whisper. I’m assuming “rock-climbers” should be “excavators”:
[00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:04.000] Here they are, fortifications are being built all over the Kursk region.
[00:00:04.000 --> 00:00:06.000] The rock-climbers are working.
[00:00:06.000 --> 00:00:09.000] A huge, endless line of anti-tank weapons.
[00:00:09.000 --> 00:00:11.000] There, further, is the Ukrainian.
[00:00:11.000 --> 00:00:13.000] Well, more precisely, the enemy.
[00:00:13.000 --> 00:00:15.000] Because not only the Ukrainian.
[00:00:15.000 --> 00:00:17.000] Here.
I ran the audio through Whisper to translate it. I’d appreciate if someone who understands better could double check it, or explain the reference/saying about hares if they know:
[00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:04.000] Who says that you can’t go abroad?
[00:00:04.000 --> 00:00:09.000] Guys, everyone is going to the army, they are letting us go abroad.
[00:00:09.000 --> 00:00:14.000] Two hares would have gone, but they didn’t.
[00:00:14.000 --> 00:00:17.000] But everything is fine.
[00:00:17.000 --> 00:00:24.000] Here it is, here it is.
[00:00:27.000 --> 00:00:31.000] Not at the border, but in the sky.
[00:00:31.000 --> 00:00:35.000] That’s it, guys, you are abroad.
[00:00:35.000 --> 00:00:38.000] No shit.
[00:00:38.000 --> 00:00:44.000] So if you want, go ahead.
[00:00:44.000 --> 00:00:48.000] - We don’t ask for anything. - We don’t ask for anything.
[00:00:48.000 --> 00:00:51.000] All the guys are happy.
Instead of using Imgur, I’ve been uploading images to posts on Lemmy and then linking to those on Reddit with my comment.
Haven’t had any issues doing that.
The downside to this is, if the instance shuts down, those images won’t be available.
