That’s only going to happen if the side in favor of democracy is given a decisive victory. Squeaking out another win isn’t going to be enough.

No, but the whole point of Doctorow’s Enshittification essay is that it inevitably will. In the same way animals keep evolving into crabs due to convergent evolution, social media companies will keep turning into shit because the market incentives push them that way.
Boffins coming up with a magical new solution to a problem that they somehow know will 100% work despite having done zero experimentation or testing.
You are wrong. Some random guy said that on Twitter and people ran with it. It was never officially stated by Microsoft.
Every OS has a limited life span of support. Linux is no different. Every distro I’m aware of does 5 years or less of support vs Microsoft’s 10 years.
The problem is you can’t go back to that well repeatedly. We’ve played the first two games. The unknown is pretty well known at this point. It’s like monster horror movies: none of the sequels are any good unless they pull an Alien/Aliens and switch genre to action.
I’m my experience, that’s most right-wingers in Texas. They’ll bitch about corporate power, the consolidation of megacorps, the little guy getting fucked over and then just be completely unable to process that the last 40 years of Republican rule are why that’s happening. At least Gearbox isn’t spending a year+ denying that the problem exists.
It’s more that 2d projections of 3d objects are wonky and unintuitive.
Quit buying from giant corporations.
I can go to my local family owned Banh Mi joint and get a sandwich made with real meat and fresh bread for $6. For $12, I could add a boba tea and a side of fried dumplings.
I wouldn’t call most of the modern ones real RPGs either.
The original XCOM is the source of grid based inventories.
Star Control 2 is the first RPG that did the standard dialogue interface where you talk to someone and choose from multiple replies.
GTA3 is the one that started the trend.
30h of gameplay seems very reasonable for a $20 game.
In case you haven’t heard, a bunch of the original KSP developers are teaming up with the DayZ guy’s company to make a spiritual sequel: Kitten Space Agency.
