I was wondering why people were leaving the offices today ask solemn. Turned out the 2 floors above me were leased by firewalk. More room for the other gaming studio we’re building out who was sub leasing them I guess.

Gotta mention the downsides. You’re gonna pay more for electrical/gas. Since you’re basically keeping your hot pipes full of hot water at all times. If you’re in an older house and those pipes are copper and in a crawlspace, exposed to 40 degree weather, that’s gonna get cold pretty quick.

If you end up with access to old pipes I recommend a good insulation for starters. I insulated my own and my heat up time dropped from like 2 minutes to 30 seconds. Still quite a bit of time to wait but I’d be spending a lot on constantly keeping that longer pipe full with hot water

My biggest gripe still is the planet that has an absolute embargo on it, ships stopping anyone from entering, a planet obliterated by the monsters, frozen over. You land, do the mission, and then right outside there’s multiple POI with settlers just casually living, pirate bases just generically there. Like they couldn’t even stop the POI’s from spawning on the one planet that should have been abandoned.

Man it doesn’t even need to devolve into a debate. You get berated just for having an opinion on something more and more. That’s the problem with the voting system anyways. People that don’t share an opinion with you shouldn’t even have an option to down vote. Just don’t vote at all. Up votes are for shared opinions. But even then the biggest gripe I had with reddit was the system has the up voted “popular” comments as the most viewed as well, leaving the opinions of people unseen without looking for them.

People are impressionable. If they see everyone agreeing with a comment they feel they need to skew their opinion towards the common dissent or risk being alienated. We’re communal creatures. And social media screwed with our heads with the need to fit in.

I agree. I already tend to get tossed into a category because I don’t agree with a majority of the user base. If people can get categorized more by how they vote, and lemmy users are already pretty savvy, I can see a scenario where people get tagged.

I have a HTPC with 4 controllers and honestly my steam library has more couch games than my old Xbox.

I would have been fine with a new game+ story but the main story got completely revamped for the second playthrough. Not just a few unique dialogue options.

Wait really? Just using genocide gets you banned in politics? What a bunch of shmeggs. I got banned there years ago because the mods simply went through my post history. I’m still shook with how the narrative and mind of users are tilted towards a very skewed viewpoint.

Some people believe the user base of reddit is diverse, and they’re getting a healthy view of the world. Unbewknowest to them they find themselves dumbfounded when the world isn’t conforming to what they believe is the majority opinion

Yeah… I’ve also never watched star trek, or used Linux, or had Firefox and browsing is all that.
