He’s so disingenuous. He says “I’m just a dumb guy asking questions,” but his show is clearly slanted and he gives sure time to people who wouldn’t and shouldn’t reach that kind of audience without him.
Yet another refugee who washed up on the shore after the great Reddit disaster of 2023

I’ve been careless with a delicate man
I always hear about people lamenting that they lost their boomer parents to Fox News or Facebook or whatever, but I’m a boomer parent who lost a son to Rogan. He’s always quoting absolute nonsense he heard on that show about Kamala or liberals. It’s so sad - he’s a pretty smart guy.
It’s such garbage. I’m not sure why anyone cares about anyone else’s skin tone. I’m lilly white, but I wouldn’t care at all if everyone in the world was an even brown at some future time. Why would I?
I tell a lot of new parents that kids are amazingly resilient, so when you inevitably make mistakes, they’ll likely be fine. On the other hand, they’re amazingly sensitive and perceptive, so no matter how good of a job you do, you’ll probably leave then with at least minor issues. I mean, if someone you know has zero emotional issues, it probably means you don’t know them that well.
She’s Elon’s kid, and she had to suffer through being trans in a society that doesn’t broadly accept it (and at least one parent who doesn’t), so she’s got a lot going against her, but she sure seems to speak out with self confidence, so I hope she’s one of those who was able to just grow from the hardships.
Wow, what a load of crap. I wonder if Musk really talked about that stuff, which would be taking his shittiness to the next level.
It was also annoying how much it drove some people to make one line jokes or recycled copypasta in every single thread, looking for the quick upvotes. It made some threads unreadable.
You’re going to get a lot of agreement here: Lemmy decided not to implement it for users. We still use votes on posts and comments, and you can sort by them, but no one gets scored by his many they have, and I think that’s a good thing. Lots of folks on Reddit modify their behavior specifically to generate karma, and often not in good ways.
I’m a flaming liberal, but I’m honestly revolted that, as I write this, your comment has a bunch of upvotes and no downvotes.
One of the things I look for in employees is the ability to distill complex topics into the important elements and explain it to someone unfamiliar. Some people are just naturally good at it, and it’s a really important skill for moving up a leadership chain.
If you really want the job, this is a bad idea. The form is there so that HR (who usually knows nothing about the technical details of the posted jobs) can match base requirements against what the hiring manager is looking for. If they get a match, they just forward the resume to the manager. Doing stuff like this on the form is likely going to result in them just moving on without looking at your application further. And it doesn’t mean it’s a bad place to work; the company and the manager might be great.
But the plastic cover just sits on top, doesn’t it?
It’s a valid point, but it’s kind of like saying it’s great that the restaurant you’ve started going to has such a small menu compared to the old one because you’re not eating as much.
